Airgun & rimfire ballistics

Airgun ballistics that actually knows pellets.

PelletArc solves real diabolo, slug and .22LR trajectories with airgun-specific drag laws — then lets you true the BC from your own shots. The exact holdover, glove-ready and fully offline.

The problem

Box BC lies. Generic calculators don’t model pellets.

Airguns are not small rifles. The physics that matters at 35 metres is the physics every other app skips.

Diabolo pellets break G1/G7

A wasp-waisted pellet doesn’t fly like a bullet. Standard rifle drag curves simply don’t fit it — so most apps fake the answer with a single rifle law.

Box BC is just one number

Your real ballistic coefficient shifts with velocity and your barrel. A catalogue figure is a starting point, never the truth at every range.

The tools are painful

The legacy apps are overwhelming, the new ones look like toys, and the classics haven’t been updated in years. Nobody built one for the field.

Pellet physics

Nine real drag laws. The deepest airgun solver on mobile.

PelletArc ships airgun-specific drag models you won’t find in any other phone app — sourced from wind-tunnel work, not guessed.

  • GA & GA2 domed diabolo · WC0 wadcutter · SLG0/SLG1 slugs · GS round ball
  • RA4 for .22LR rimfire · G1 / G7 for rifle · custom Cd(Mach) table
  • RK4 point-mass solver, parity-tested against published JBM tables
  • Wind, atmosphere, incline and sight-height — folded away until you need them

BC truing

Don’t trust the box. Find your own BC.

Log two or three observed drops at known ranges. PelletArc fits a velocity-dependent BC curve to your rifle and pellet — your DOPE becomes your calibration.

  • One shot calibrates a scalar BC · two or three fit a full velocity curve
  • Built-in DOPE log → one tap to true from your real-world data
  • Truing-first by design: the catalogue is a start, your groups are the truth

Your holdover, drawn on your scope.

15 angular-correct reticles in mil and MOA. Read the hold straight off the pattern you already use — or print a holdover / turret card for the bench and the truck.

  • Mil-Dot, hash, tree, MOA and duplex families — mathematically defined, not traced
  • Holdover & turret card export to PDF — share or print, fully offline
  • Chart, reticle and table views of the same solve — one tap apart
Pellet catalogue

Every entry is tagged by data quality, so you always know how far to trust a number. When a BC isn’t reliable, we say so — and hand you truing instead.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is PelletArc a Strelok or ChairGun alternative?
Yes. PelletArc is a modern, airgun-first ballistics calculator built to replace the dense, dated tools. It models real pellet drag, supports a Strelok profile import, and gives you the holdover in seconds instead of a wall of inputs.
Does it work offline?
Completely. The solver, your profiles, the reticle view and the holdover card all work in airplane mode. PelletArc never needs an account and never needs a connection to do its job.
Is there a subscription?
No. PelletArc is a one-time purchase, yours forever. No subscription, no ads, no account. The free version gives you the full-accuracy solver out to 35 metres; Pro unlocks unlimited range, saved profiles, the PDF holdover card and multi-distance BC curves.
Which pellets and calibres are supported?
A catalogue of 1,680 sourced pellets covering diabolo, wadcutter, slug and round-ball projectiles from .177 up to big-bore .50, plus .22LR rimfire. Every entry is tagged by data quality so you always know how trustworthy a BC is.
What drag models does PelletArc use?
Nine drag laws: GA, GA2, GS, SLG0, SLG1 and WC0 for airgun pellets, slugs and round balls; G1 and G7 for rifle projectiles; and RA4 for .22LR rimfire — plus a custom Cd table. The airgun laws are not available in any other mobile app.
What is BC truing and why does it matter?
A catalogue ballistic coefficient is a single number measured on someone else’s rifle. Your real BC shifts with velocity and your barrel. With BC truing you log two or three observed drops at known ranges and PelletArc fits a velocity-dependent BC curve to your exact setup.
Is it on iOS and Android?
Both. PelletArc runs the same Rust ballistics engine natively on iPhone and Android, so the answer is identical on either device.
Do you track me or sell my data?
No analytics, no ads, no account, no tracking. The only optional network use is crash reporting and store purchases. Your profiles stay on your device and export as plain JSON whenever you want.
